When one thinks of Big Sky, they might think of skiing, hiking, resort tax or fancy bars. They probably don’t think of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and grunge legend Pearl Jam, or the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or of members of the Foo Fighters and Guns N’ Roses all getting together to jam.
But that’s exactly what’s happening, at Peak to Sky music festival on July 5 and 6. The two-day festival is put on in part by Big Sky promotion company Outlaw Partners and curated by Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready. McCready hit up a few friends to play the festival, and they’re not small-time friends: Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and drummer Chad Smith, and Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan. Some of the stars have jammed together before; some haven’t.
